The c. £1m project, completed in 2022, involved multi-element improvement work at Manor Court and Nightingale Lodge in Lurgan for Radius Housing Association.
The work involved the refurbishment of bedroom en-suite bathrooms, the replacement of internal fire doors and screens, fire compartmentation of roof space voids, fire alarm and electrical upgrades, and redecoration.
This was a particularly challenging project as the work had to be phased to minimise disruption as the building remained fully operational throughout with elderly and vulnerable residents living in the facility. Dust, noise, and vibration were stringently controlled to minimise nuisance and disruption. Close daily consultation between the Nurse Manager and Site Manager along with the use of Daily Activity Plans ensured a successful completion.
The client’s key design consultants involved in the project included:
- NEC Project Manager: RPP Architects
- Architect: RPP Architects
- Quantity Surveyor: Naylor & Devlin
- Mechanical and Electrical Engineers: Simpson and Crawford Consulting
- Principal Designer: RPP Architects
