The €1m+ project comprised of fire upgrade and compliance work to residential blocks which were built in 2001 to enhance and expand Dublin City University (DCU)’s residential footprint.
Specifically, the project involved:
- Fire safety upgrade works to common and residential stairways servicing all floor levels including basement carpark to accommodate fire compliance and inspection.
- Refurbishment of common and residential area lobbies at basement level to remaining residential floors to accommodate fire compliance and inspection.
- Refurbishment of service risers, associated life safety systems and service installations to accommodate fire compliance and inspection.
- Refurbishment works to all apartments to meet fire compliance and inspections.
- Installation of a fire alarm system and full testing & commissioning of the system.
- Complete re-review of the previously completed pilots project, making sure that it is fit for purpose to accommodate fire compliance and inspections.
- Upgrades to the existing ventilation ductwork in the basement car park area to provide an enhanced fire rating.
- Upgrade of the existing ventilation installation in the basement car park area to accommodate fire compliance and inspections.
- Facilitating Dublin Fire Brigade inspections throughout all houses as required.
