The c. £3m project involved a major transformation of the boarding facilities. The extension of the boarding accommodation saw the creation of 63 new study bedrooms over four floors, an apartment, kitchen & food preparation/storage area, utility, laundry, games rooms, plant room, support offices, entrance lobby, reception, ancillary areas, covered courtyard, and an outdoor recreation area.
The superstructure was made up of mostly brick/blockwork on pre-cast concrete slabs. Zinc wall cladding was fitted to the exterior.
The project was a finalist in the RICS NI Awards 2020, in the ‘Student Accommodation’ category.
