Construction of The Junction, Dungannon

The c. £4m project comprised the construction of a three-storey commercial building on the busy fringes of Dungannon town centre. It contains a café, office spaces, meeting rooms, additional multipurpose spaces for community use, training facilities and exhibition space.

The facility was built using a traditional construction methodology with precast concrete slabs and stairs, facing brick & block, with structural steel providing additional support.

Further testament to the innovative specifications used throughout the building was the use of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) for one entire section of the building.

Completion:

• The project was a winner in the CEF Construction Excellence Awards 2016 in the ‘Social/Community Construction Award’ category.
• The standard of finish was excellent and evident by winning the prestigious BRICK Awards 2016/17.
