Refurbishment of Blocks MH and MQ at Ulster University Underway

A new contract has been secured to refurbish Blocks MH and MQ at the Ulster University Magee campus. The work will comprise refurbishment and alterations to accommodate the teaching requirements for the new BSc Hons Games Design undergraduate degree programme. The completed refurbishment will provide a mix of specialist teaching spaces, staff offices, and ancillary accommodation. The work required includes the following:

• Internal alterations to walls and doorways.
• New floor, wall, and ceiling finishes.
• Electrical services: removals, new LV power and outlets, new containment and distribution, new general and emergency lighting and controls, alterations to existing fire alarm system and access control.
• Mechanical services: removals, new ventilation, heating and cooling plant, BMS, and public health services.
• Installation of audio-visual equipment.

Work commenced on site in mid-July and is scheduled to be complete by the autumn.
